VOLUMES AND LINES
This series is shoot in an irrigation pool in North Africa. The cisterns built to hold the water are sacred vessels, stolid utilitarian temples that mirror in their simple geometry the bare essential nature of the liquid they contain. It’s a place of contemplation, a place for whiling away the minutes observing the waters undulate along a stark concrete wall. The malleable element is eternally aiming to restore a balance, to calm the ripples that upset its smooth surface, to flow, to dodge every obstacle in its longing to rejoin the nearest ocean. And so do our thoughts ebb and flow, for a few enlightened instants.
